FAQ

Common questions about plastic recycling machines

What we make, where we make it, and how it ships. Still unsure? Get in touch and we will reply within one working day.

Sustainable Design Studio makes seven desktop plastic recycling machines, including the Shredder Mini V2 (hand-cranked shredder for bottle caps and small parts), the Desktop Shredder V2 (powered shredder, up to 20 kg per hour), the Injection Mini V2 (pneumatic injection moulder for small-batch production), and the Filament Maker (turns recycled plastic into 1.75 mm 3D-printer filament). Use them as standalone tools or as a closed-loop plastic recycling workflow.
Every machine is designed, assembled, and tested in our UK workshop. Each one is CE and UKCA certified and ships with documentation that follows the machine for life.
The Shredder Mini V2 and Desktop Shredder V2 handle rigid HDPE, PP, PET, PLA, PETG, ABS, PS, and LDPE. The Injection Mini V2 takes HDPE, PP, PLA, PETG, ABS, PS, TPU, and LDPE, but not PET. The Filament Maker handles PET only, turning recycled bottles directly into 1.75 mm filament. Avoid PVC, rubber, and metal-lined plastics across all machines. Our free Plastic 101 guides cover identification, melt-flow index, and recommended settings for each polymer.
